Materials & Techniques

The materials chosen for the Soundscapes musical sculptures and windharps are intended to be exposed to the outdoor elements, including sun, rain, snow and, of course, wind. Our instruments have their main components, made from titanium, steel, copper or bronze, depending on the design. These metals either finished with a baked, powder-coat finish, or are left untreated to allow the metals to develop their own natural weathered patina.

The strings are made of titanium, nylon, or a mix of both, depending on the size of the Harp. The nylon strings have a life-span of 2-3 years, while the highly stable titanium strings are impervious to weather. The tuning pins are made of stainless steel.

The strings on the wind harp are tuned to harmonic intervals. Harmonics produced by the wind harps are long tones, that stimulate deep levels of relaxation, and subtly expand our band of conscious awareness.

Each sculpture comes with a full maintenance manual.

Windsingers and Wind-o-harps are shipped UPS. All other harps are shipped freight collect. For full shipping and crating information, or for prices on any of our Harps, please use our Contact Form.
